Dragon Quest 35th anniversary new game announcements

Square Enix will host a special Dragon Quest 35th anniversary live stream event with new game announcements and more on May 27, 2021.

May 27 marks the 35th anniversary of the Dragon Quest series, which started with the Famicom RPG, Dragon Quest, on May 27, 1986. The live stream will include two main parts. The first part will cover news and updates on current titles such as Dragon Quest X Online and Dragon Quest Walk. The second part will feature an introduction to the series’s latest lineup.

Part 1 of the live stream will feature Natsumi Uga as the announcer to deliver news on the following titles:

  • Dragon Quest X Online
  • Dragon Quest Walk
  • Dragon Quest Tact
  • Dragon Quest of the Stars
  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light
  • Dragon Quest Rivals Ace
  • Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai series
  • Dragon Quest series official goods
  • Dragon Quest: Great Demon Lord Zoma and the Island of Beginnings

Part 2 will introduce the latest lineup for the series, meaning multiple new title announcements. The part will include a talk show with actor JOY and Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii. We know that a new Dragon Quest Monsters game featuring a young Erik from Dragon Quest XI is already in the works, so perhaps we’ll finally see more on that. Speaking of DQXI, it’s already been almost four years since its release, so it wouldn’t be surprising to get a big reveal for Dragon Quest XII, which has been in development since 2019. In any case, Dragon Quest fans should be pretty pumped for what’s to come.

The Dragon Quest 35th anniversary live stream will start at 12:00 p.m. JST on May 27, 2021. It will be available on YouTube in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
