Devil’s Third Online to be Shut Down, Game to Receive 50% Discount

Nintendo has announced that it will be shutting down servers for Devil’s Third in Japan on December 29, less than 18 months after the game first launched. Beginning June 27, next week, players will no longer be able to purchase Golden Eggs, the game’s version of microtransactions.

Additionally, beginning June 24, Nintendo will slash the price of Devil’s Third by half. The game currently costs 7,236 yen (about $69), and that price will be reduced to 3,618 yen.

Currently, there are no plans to bring down the online servers in North America or Europe, but the shutdown in the game’s home country of Japan is not a good indication of what is to come.
