Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition teases ‘something extra’ on Switch

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition producer Switch teases 'something extra'

Capcom’s Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition was announced for Nintendo Switch in November, and it will release on Feb. 20 for $19.99 (the same price as its predecessors). However, Devil May Cry 3 producer Matt Walker has unexpectedly taken to the series Twitter account to tease something extra for this Nintendo Switch version of the game.

In a video, Walker says, among other things, “We know that this game holds a very special place in all of your hearts, and so we wanted to show our appreciation. I guess you could say that we’re feeling a little motivated to add a little something extra that we think you’re all really going to like.” Beyond that, he names three specific dates where we can expect to learn new tidbits about the game from Capcom. These dates are Jan. 16, Jan. 30, and Feb. 13.

This “something extra” could be many things, but it is worth noting that the game’s official website discusses the Style Change system in Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition: “Will you prioritize speed or defense? Swordsmanship or gunplay? The new Style Change system allows you to experience the action through a number of unique Styles allowing for unprecedented variety. Level up the Styles and weapons as you see fit and create a playstyle all your own.”

Also, if this mysterious bonus addition for the Switch version is especially juicy, it could mean that it will appear in an upcoming, unannounced Nintendo Direct… perhaps one occurring on Jan. 16, Jan. 30, or Feb. 13? Stay tuned for further updates on this Capcom classic.
