Descenders gets another release window for Nintendo Switch

Descenders physical release digital spring 2020 release date Nintendo Switch

Descenders released in 2018 on PC and the following year for Xbox One, with PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions promised for the future. Whilst a few release windows have passed by, the procedural downhill biking game has yet to appear on those two platforms. Publisher No More Robots has provided an update on proceedings though. It states the Switch version is coming vaguely later this year, whereas the PlayStation 4 version now has a solid release date of Aug. 25.

Since Switch and PS4 versions have been spoken of for over two years though, we’ll believe a Switch version when we see it.

If and when it does drop for Nintendo’s hybrid system, Descenders is a free-flowing downhill biking game with procedurally generated levels. I played a good bunch of it on Xbox Game Pass when it dropped last year, and its procedural nature provided some good replay value. The controls were tight too, and if developer RageSquid can cook up a solid version for Switch, it would be an ideal place to play it.

Players who preorder Descenders on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch will receive a day-one unlock for a set of rare, glow-in-the-dark customization items for their outfit, helmet, and bike. For Switch, this takes shape as the “Descent Lux Set.” Descenders is set to launch on Switch later this year, and hopefully that ain’t too far away.
