Defentron brings ’80s flair and tower defense action to Switch in December

The Switch’s indie library is massive enough already, but plenty of new gems seem to hit the shop every day. That indie catalog will soon include Defentron, a tower defense title that hopes to steal a few hearts and add itself to the pile of quality Switch games when it releases on the eShop on December 17, 2020. Check out a trailer below to get an idea of how the game plays.

Here’s how the publisher describes Defentron:

DEFENTRON is a 3D “Tower Defense” straight out of the 80’s with its retro look.

Get ready and battle for the ultimate upgrade. Defentron, the retro-futurist computer system is trying to safeguard itself from malicious viruses that seek to control its core.

Use strategy to upgrade your lines of defense and become the most powerful security system ever known.

Think like an 80s software. You will face fast, hard, resilient enemies, capable of regenerating or splitting when destroyed, returning to the battlefield. Nobody will be safe until the last of the living enemies falls.

What do you think? Does Defentron look like it may be up your alley? Will you be keeping it on your radar over the next few weeks as we approach its December 17 release date? Let us know what you’re thinking in the comments below.
