Danganronpa Decadence, a trilogy collection, is coming to Switch this year

Danganronpa Decadence preorder preorders

The Nintendo E3 Direct just keeps delivering exactly what I always wanted. As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations for the Danganronpa franchise (which got delayed because of the pandemic), Switch versions of the trilogy have been announced, coming later this year in the Danganronpa Decadence collection. This collection includes not only the three anniversary editions of the three original games, but also a fully fleshed out version of the board game from Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, known as Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp!

The Danganronpa games place you in the role of a student facing off against their opponents in a killing game. The rules are simple. In order to escape, you must successfully kill one of your classmates and get away with it. If you fail, you die. By investigating crime scenes, you’ll gather evidence which will be essential to countering flawed arguments and bringing the true killer to justice. Unravel enough of your locale’s mysteries, and you might just be able to earn your freedom without having to resort to murder!

Danganronpa Decadence will be available later this year as a physical exclusive, though each individual game will also be able as a separate purchase on the eShop. If you’re into collector’s editions, you’re in luck, since one is on the way as well, though at a rather hefty $99.99 price tag. This edition contains all four games on one cartridge, a 10th anniversary 18×24″ cloth poster featuring Shuichi, Nagito, and Kyoko as drawn by character designer Rui Komatsuzaki, a 10-track remixed soundtrack from music producer Masafumi Takada, a set of three lenticular prints featuring the cover art and characters from the series, and a pop-lid metal display box! It’s a great little collection for fans of the series, and one I’m surely going to be picking up. Pre-orders for both physical editions open soon.
