Cyber Shadow is receiving a “minor delay” past its previously announced fall 2020 window, publisher Yacht Club Games has announced. The futuristic action ninja platformer from developer Aarne “MekaSkull” Hunziker needs “a little more time to add polish and finishing touches to the experience,” which is surely the common refrain of all game development in 2020. When exactly Hunziker and Yacht Club expect the game to release now has not been expressed. However, Yacht Club did have some things to say about the game’s price.
Cyber Shadow will continue to have the previously announced price tag of $14.99 for its preorder period, but once the game actually launches, the price will increase to $19.99. A rationale for the change was not given, but evidently, they believe the game has enough content to justify the increase. Nintendo Enthusiast conducted an interview with Hunziker back in January about the game where he stated playtesters took anywhere from 4 to 10 hours to complete one playthrough, not including accomplishing all feats and achievements.
Yacht Club Games didn’t have anything else to say about Cyber Shadow aside from stressing time and again that the delay is only minor, though it did share a few more GIFs of the game in action, if you enjoy ogling good pixel art. The game will release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with the Switch version enjoying Shovel Knight amiibo support.
We have an important update on our upcoming published title, Cyber Shadow.
We’ve been tirelessly working with @MekaSkull in hopes of hitting a Fall 2020 release. The end is nearly in sight, but we need a little more time.
