Crysis Twitter, which had gone dormant since 2016, has started posting teases that seem to allude to a remaster of the original game in the Crytek franchise. It began with a post of “RECEIVING DATA” followed by a relevant game quotation, “Hey Nomad, you’re still with us?” But now, the surprise, if there ever was one, has apparently been spoiled. The Cookie Policy page (which has since been removed) and its metadata for the Crysis website confirmed the existence of Crysis Remastered for PC and all current consoles, including Nintendo Switch.
A Twitter user captured pretty irrefutable evidence that the page and its contents existed:

The following text for the game was uncovered from the website: “From the makers of Far Cry, Hunt: Showdown and CRYENGINE, Crysis offers first person shooter fans the best-looking, evolved, and innovative gameplay, enabling players to adapt in real time to survive… Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch.”
So, uh, that’s pretty much the ball game then. Now we just wait for Crytek to make an official announcement on the matter, because the alternative is that they developed an extremely elaborate and late April Fools’ Day joke. Crysis Remastered is actually the second game on Nintendo Switch to make use of CryEngine, with the first being Warface.
Update: It’s official now. Additionally, Saber Interactive, who ported The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to Switch, is responsible for this port.
