Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled for Nintendo Switch Beenox is finished updating Crash Team Racing, working on new things

Updates for last year’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled dried up in March of this year. Developer Beenox stepped away from the game after roughly nine months of update drops from launch. Since then, fans of the kart racer have been pleading with Beenox to release more content for the game, but that hasn’t come to fruition. Now, the developer has taken to social media to reiterate that support is finished for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, but good things are on the horizon.

Beenox is busy with a few things, as it turns out. It’s currently supporting another developer, Toys for Bob, on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The Nitro-Fueled developer is working on the N. Verted modes for Crash 4, a unique take on mirror modes featuring different playable characters. Beyond that though, the team says that work has begun on “some other things we can’t quite mention yet.”

Now, just what this extra project could be is making us scratch our heads. Prior to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, the team had spent the past few years mainly working on Call of Duty as a support studio. Beenox did lead development on the Modern Warfare 2: Campaign Remastered release though, so maybe a Modern Warfare 3 remaster is their next port of call? Doubtful, but it’s all just speculation. For now though, let’s hope a Switch version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is in the works.
