Crash Bandicoot 4 is headed to Switch, PS5, XSX in March, PC later

Activision Blizzard Toys for Bob Crash Bandicoot 4 Nintendo Switch release date March Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

Publisher Activision Blizzard and developer Toys for Bob have revealed that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 12, with PC via release to follow later in the year. Players on next-gen consoles will be able to play the game in 4K with 60 FPS, faster load times, and 3D audio, and players who already own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version will receive a free upgrade to the new version with save transfer included. (Japan oddly does not receive this free upgrade.) Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on Nintendo Switch will not have those bells and whistles, but it will only cost $39.99, as opposed to $59.99 on PS5 and XSX.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time initially launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2020, and the demand for a Switch version has been high ever since, especially since it already has Vicarious VisionsCrash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The game was far from a quick Activision Blizzard cash grab as well, as Toys for Bob put a lot of care into the game to make it feel like an earnest successor to the original trilogy. It received a warm critical reception, though how well it performed financially is unclear.
