Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version shadow launches on Switch

Control cloud Switch Control Ultimate Edition - Cloud Version Nintendo Switch launch today release date now Remedy Entertainment

Control, Remedy Entertainment’s latest third-person action game, is shadow launching for Nintendo Switch today. The surprise announcement came as part of the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, which showed off a bunch of new and existing games coming to Switch. However, there is a slight catch with Control on Switch, as this is Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version.

Control is playable via cloud streaming on Nintendo’s platform. It follows Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, both of which offered a streamed version exclusively for Japan. This is the first time that cloud gaming is being offered directly to a Western audience, it seems.

If you feel uneasy at the thought of forking out for a cloud-based game, don’t worry. Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch is offering a brief trial of sorts for players to test the game out (and to make sure your internet connection handle it). On launching the streamed version, you get a message granting you with a 10-minute trial session. As long as you test the game for five minutes, you can go ahead and purchase the full game for $39.99. If you do decide to pick Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version up, your progress will carry over from the brief trial period.

This is Remedy Entertainment’s first Nintendo release since the Game Boy Advance port of Max Payne. Will you be trying out the cloud version of Control?
