Comeback kid: PowerA reveals an official Waluigi controller for Switch

Waluigi Switch controller reveal

Poor Waluigi. Fans have been grasping at straws trying to predict an upcoming inclusion in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Not only that, we haven’t seen the purple man in a Switch game since Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. What is a gamer to do without their beloved idol? Thankfully, video game peripheral manufacturer PowerA has something for devotees to enjoy. It recently had a reveal for an officially licensed Waluigi Switch controller.

The Waluigi controller looks great but is missing some key Switch features

The wireless Waluigi controller has motion control and two mappable buttons. However, it does not have HD rumble, IR, or amiibo NFC.

Here are some of the additional attributes the controller does have:

  • 30-hour rechargeable battery
  • Anti-friction rings for smooth thumb use
  • Warning for low battery and a 10ft charge cable
  • Two-year limited warranty

This is a great design with good use of Waluigi’s colors. Hopefully, Waluigi will get his very own game in the near future. That way, players can boast about having an appropriate corresponding controller for their adventure.

The Waluigi controller releases on June 4. You can pre-order it from Amazon here for $49.99.
