Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a brand new platformer from developer Dinosaur Bytes Studio and publisher Numskull Games. The game was announced for Nintendo Switch and PC earlier today. It takes the best elements from the greatest platforming games in the genre, giving them to players in one neat package that’s sure to elate users.

In Clive ‘N’ Wrench players take on the role of a rabbit and their monkey friend. Together, the pair is capable of traversing just about any obstacles, mainly thanks to Clive’s great jumping prowess and Wrench’s skills with, well, a wrench.

As you work your way through the story, you’ll encounter new challenging worlds filled with massive levels to explore. The game worlds look varied and fun to work your way through. Part of the joy of platformers is seeking out every single collectible in a level before moving onto the next one.

While traversal looks to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game, it’s the boss fights that seem like the highlight. Colossal enemies will form some of the biggest fights in the game, including what appear to be a vampiric deer who can control bats, a giant gambling-mad frog thing, and possibly even an obese mouse.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench will launch this winter. What classic platformer influences are you seeing in Dinosaur Bytes Studio’s work?

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
