Square Enix has shared the latest for its upcoming racing game Chocobo GP with a new trailer, a March 10, 2022 release date worldwide, and info about a free-to-play “Lite” version.
Chocobo GP offers various modes, including local and online multiplayer modes. It will also feature online knockout-style tournaments with up to 64 players in Chocobo GP Mode. If you’re in for the single-player gameplay, the story mode campaign will have a story about Chocobo and friends who enter a racing tourney to grant their greatest wish.
In addition to the release date, Square Enix also detailed a free-to-play version of Chocobo GP called Chocobo GP Lite. The Lite version will allow players to check out single and multiplayer modes. This version will have the Story Mode Prologue and local and online multiplayer, with a limited number of characters. Only those who own the full game will get to host their own local multiplayer races, but Lite players will be able to join those. Both Chocobo GP and Chocobo GP Lite players can partake in the 64-player knockout mode. More importantly, those with save data from Lite will get to carry over everything, including items and in-game currency.
