The only way to get Mew in Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee is by purchasing the Poke Ball Plus controller, which comes with the legendary pocket monster as a download code. Some Chinese sellers, though, are splitting up the bundle. According to Chuapp, a number of Chinese retailers are taking the Mew code out of the controllers and selling the items separately.
After this issue was realized by players in China, the base set out to expose the companies. Their response, reportedly, framed the situation as if the Mew-packaged Poke Ball Plus controllers were all sold out. In reality, though, players were simply being scammed out of their full purchase.
This is shady business. It’s one thing to try the scheme of removing Mews from Poke Ball Plus units, but to then lie about it is another level of bad. I’m interested to see what happens to these sellers in the near future.
What do you make of this story? What should The Pokemon Company and Nintendo do about these retailers? Be sure to let us know down in the comments section.
