Adi Shankar, a producer on Netflix’s Castlevania, might be diving into a huge Nintendo property next.
Shankar teased fans about his next television project on Instagram, claiming he is working with an “iconic Japanese gaming company”. He offered no further details, noting he’ll reveal the information on November 16.
According to The Wrap, though, Shankar is set to helm a television series based on the iconic Legend of Zelda franchise.
No Japanese gaming company is more iconic than the big N, and no franchise lends itself better to TV than Zelda. The series is ripe for an enthralling narrative played out on the small screen. With Nintendo moving into movies and theme parks, TV wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
What do you think of this rumor? What Nintendo property, other than Zelda, would make for a great show? Stay tuned for the official reveal of Shankar’s new series next month.
