Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker receives Labo VR compatibility today

With Labo VR’s launch earlier this year, a handful of Nintendo Switch titles saw surprise updates with compatibility for the new Toy-Con VR goggles. Switch mega-hits Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were the first to receive VR support; following that, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate received a similar update in May. As of today, a fourth game now becomes Labo VR compatible, as Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker updates to version 1.3.0.

As the above trailer demonstrates, you can play four of the game’s levels with virtual reality:

  • The intro level;
  • Briny Bowl Swimming Hole;
  • Walleye Tumble Temple;
  • Mine Cart Tunnel Throwdown, from a first-person perspective.

As an added bonus, you can look around the course selection screen with 360 degrees and watch enemies middling about.

Admittedly, it’s a bit of a shame that this expansion is limited to four of the games’ levels, just like Super Mario Odyssey before it. Still, getting up close and personal with Captain Toad will indeed be a fun way to pass the time! Will you be checking out Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker with the Toy-Con VR goggles?
