‘Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker’ is selling out in Japan

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker review

The Nintendo Switch boasts a solid library of Wii U ports, but fans aren’t tired of them just yet.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is the most recent title to make the jump from Wii U to Switch. Naturally, players were expecting the game to be a mild hit, but its reception in Japan has proven it to be quite the juggernaut on the market. According to a slew of Japanese Twitter users, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is selling out in the region.

Yodobashi, a massive electronic chain in Japan, is even out of stock at nearly every location. They’re currently accepting orders for when Nintendo restocks the retail title.

Are you surprised about the popularity of Captain Toad in Japan? Is the demand this high, or did Nintendo underestimate the game’s appeal? Regardless of the answer, the title’s surely a hit in the region.
