Nintendo surprised all of us when it announced and subsequently released Cadence of Hyrule out of nowhere this summer during E3. The unlikely crossover rhythm game sees the world and characters of The Legend of Zelda turned into a BPM-fueled action-adventure follow-up to the rhythmic stylings of indie hit Crypt of the Necrodancer. It was received incredibly well by fans and critics alike, and now, everyone who enjoyed the game when it came out has got even more reason to love it. An update to Cadence of Hyrule introduces a new storyline titled “Octavo’s Ode” and a brand new challenge mode called “Dungeon Mode” to go along with it.

Octavo’s Ode lets you play through a new Cadence of Hyrule story as the villain of the original game himself, Octavo. You’ll be able to use his Golden Lute to take on enemies and explore new regions, as well as uncover the truth behind his reasoning for taking over Hyrule in the original story.
This new Cadence of Hyrule story chapter is accompanied by a brand new mode titled Dungeon Mode. In this, you’ll be able to drop into incredibly challenging combat gauntlets featuring some of the toughest foes in the game as you duke it out and aim for victory.
Cadence of Hyrule is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
