Today’s Nindies Showcase ended with the most gigantic “What the $*%!?” imaginable: Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda has been announced for Nintendo Switch, arriving in spring 2019. It looks like a beautiful topdown pixel action RPG in the style of classic Zelda games, except it’s not strictly a Zelda game. It’s apparently a sequel to Crypt of the NecroDancer, a roguelike rhythm game, that happens to be set in Hyrule and uses Zelda music! Oh, and you can play as Link and Zelda.

Looking at the trailer above, Cadence of Hyrule is a big visual upgrade from the first Crypt of the NecroDancer. But beyond that? We don’t have much to go on right now. Stay tuned for updates on this huge and bizarre news!
