Dad builds playhouse for his son based on Link’s Breath of the Wild home

Breath of the Wild playhouse

The race for “Dad of the Year” just got a new frontrunner late in 2020, thanks to YouTuber Once Upon a Workbench building his son a playhouse that serves as a recreation of Link’s home from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The video below is sixteen minutes long, detailing the early design process and every step of building. It’s also got plenty of fun The Legend of Zelda flair. Check it out below – seriously, it’s the coolest thing I’ve seen in months.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an endless source of inspiration, but I haven’t seen anything quite like this before. The finished product looks absolutely incredible, full of intricately crafted details and accessories like Majora’s Mask and the Master Sword, and complete with a TV for playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and other Switch games, I guess. The kid is obviously having the time of his life at the end, to nobodies surprise. I – a twenty-two-year-old law student – am more than a little bit jealous of that awesome set-up.

If you’ve got a kid (or adult) who would like a replica of Link’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild home, Once Upon a Workbench did provide plans for the build in the video description. It seems like quite the challenging feat, but if you think you’re up to the task, please do have at it – the world needs more copies of Link’s house peppered about.
