The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, sometimes just called Breath of the Wild 2 in lieu of an official title, has received a new trailer at the Nintendo E3 Direct 2021, revealing new sky gameplay and seemingly new elemental powers involving water and traveling through surfaces. We also seem to see Hyrule Castle being lifted by evil energy into the sky, so the curse of Ganon (or whatever the lore is up to these days) persists. The trailer reveals that Breath of the Wild 2 will launch in 2022.

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma explained that the setting for the sequel has been expanded to include the skies above Hyrule, but as usual, he’s asking you to wait a bit longer for additional information (and, of course, to actually play the game). The game was originally announced at E3 2019, so hopefully today’s new teaser trailer will sate your appetite for more news.

However, aside from the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer and the 2022 release window, he also showed off a The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch. Additionally, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass content will begin soon, with Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients on June 18 and Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance by the end of November.
