Give me that double guac: Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection bound for Switch this May

Rejoice, fans of Mexican-flavored Metroidvania titles! DrinkBox Studios and Leadman Games have announced some fantastic news regarding Guacamelee! and physical media. Both the original title and its sequel are bound for Switch this May in cartridge-based, two-pack form.

Take me back to flavor town

The double-pack of platformer goodness is Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection. It consists of the enhanced original game, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, as well as the sequel, Guacamelee! 2. Additionally, the pack will contain a double-sided poster, instruction booklet, and codes for each of the game’s soundtracks. Soon, you will be able to listen to festive mariachi music wherever you go!

If you want an idea of what to expect from these two games, check out this trailer:

Having played both of these games, I can attest that, yes, they have chickens and guacamole.

This is a wonderful treat for gamers who might have missed these titles before. Both Guacamelee! games are impeccably designed and quite humorous. For instance, backtracking never feels like a chore, upgrades are smartly spaced apart and make you experience a sense of growth, and there are hardcore secret areas that will test even the most seasoned player. Plus, you can turn into a chicken and suplex the dead. That’s Game of the Forever material.

Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection will launch on May 28, 2019, for $39.99. Both games are currently available on the eShop in digital form, separately.
