Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 revealed and it looks awesome

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 Koji Igarashi ArtPlay Inti Creates reveal trailer

Revealed today at New Game+ Expo, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is in the works for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for release “coming soon.” It comes from series creator Koji Igarashi, ArtPlay, and Inti Creates. It is another epic 8-bit action adventure following up on the fantastic groundwork laid by the original. This time around you play as returning franchise characters samurai Zangetsu and magical Dominique. But there is also Robert, a sharpshooting soldier, and Hachi, a Corgi who uses a colossal suit of magic armor to pulverize enemies.

Below is the official English trailer that will have you hyped from here to the moon, probably. At least to the moon.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 continues everything that was awesome from the original, bringing the same action and charming 8-bit style (though the visuals are perhaps slightly upgraded?). Per Siliconera, the game will offer Casual and Veteran modes. The former offers unlimited lives and removes knock-back upon damage, whereas the latter does not. Additionally, Koji Igarashi is the story supervisor on this title, which is surely an important role for an, ahem, action sidescroller.

What do you think of the surprise reveal of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 from ArtPlay and Inti Creates?
