Blizzard Arcade Collection launches today with Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, & Blackthorne

Blizzard Arcade Collection Nintendo Switch The Lost Vikings Rock N Roll Racing Blackthorne

With some exceptions, BlizzCon is not the place where you typically expect cool Nintendo Switch announcements, yet the online 2021 BlizzCon (“BlizzConline”) has just begun and has already announced something very cool, as it turns out. Blizzard Arcade Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later today for $19.99, collecting classic titles The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne.

These three games can be played in the original versions as they first appeared, or they can be played as “Definitive Editions” that include a variety of extra content and the ability to rewind time upward of 10 seconds. In either version, you can now save your progress anywhere, except in the Definitive Edition of Rock N Roll Racing. Furthermore, The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne offer a “watch mode” where you can watch the game be played and then hop in to physically take control of the game at any moment. Lastly, “game art, development assets, unused content, lore, interviews, and more” are all included in Blizzard Arcade Collection.

The Lost Vikings and Rock N Roll Racing came to SNES in 1993, while Blackthorne arrived in 1994, making Blizzard Arcade Collection an awesome Nintendo homecoming on Switch. You may want to start your weekend with a three-in-one blast from the past.
