Behemoth reveals Alien Hominid Invasion, a reimagining of the original

Alien Hominid Invasion

The Behemoth revealed Alien Hominid Invasion yesterday, a full reimagining of the original gory, fiery co-op platform shooter Alien Hominid HD. We do not have much to go on right now other than a forty-second announcement trailer, but more information will come at PAX East. The game will be playable at both PAX East at the end of February and at EGX Rezzed toward the end of March.

Alien Hominid Invasion will likely look a lot like its co-op shooter predecessor, Alien Hominid HD, which is itself a tune-up of the original game, which started off as a Flash title in 2002 before releasing on sixth-generation consoles in 2004. Explosive action never stops as players use a high-powered arsenal, vehicles, and voracious chomps to take down hordes of enemies.

We know very little about the game for now, including whether or not it will even come to Switch (I like our odds, at least, since Behemoth just put Castle Crashers on Switch last year). Still, it is exciting to see Behemoth return to their roots with a reimagining of their very first game. The small studio is tackling Alien Hominid Invasion with all of the wisdom gained from making Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and Pit People, and it should yield some seriously awesome results. It’s easy to get excited already, and it’ll probably be even easier once we learn more about the blast-happy invasion at PAX East next month.
