Bathtub confirmed for Netflix’s The Witcher

The Witcher

In not-at-all shocking news, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner for Netflix’s The Witcher, has confirmed the presence of a bathtub in the show’s first season. For those somehow not in the know, a certain tub scene in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (pictured above) has established itself firmly in internet’s meme-o-sphere. While the game’s forthcoming Switch port will allow for bathing on the go, the Netflix show may now assist Geralt’s faithful plunge in transcending entertainment mediums.

In a press roundtable for the show, io9 asked about the famous bathtub scene from The Witcher 3 and whether or not it would make it into the show. Hissrich answered positively, stating “there is a bathtub this season. There is a bathtub. I won’t tell you who’s in the bathtub, but there is a bathtub.”

Unfortunately, this means that we cannot be certain that Geralt’s famous bath will be depicted on-screen, but we have enough information to officially get our hopes up. Since the show will be primarily following the plot of the books, those of us who have only played the games may be in for several surprises, even beyond silly bath memes.
