One of the biggest games people have been waiting for on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack is Banjo-Kazooie. This Nintendo 64 favorite was promised to be coming this month, and it’s finally time. Nintendo revealed today that Banjo-Kazooie releases for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack in two days, on January 20th.
For those unfamiliar with the 1998 classic, Banjo-Kazooie follows the tale of Banjo the bear and his bird friend Kazooie as they attempt to rescue Banjo’s sister Tooty from the clutches of the evil witch Gruntilda, who wishes to steal Tooty’s beauty. This adventure will take the duo across nine worlds and see them take on many challenges as they collect music notes and Jiggies to unlock the path forward. Banjo-Kazooie also features an incredible, iconic soundtrack, composed by none other than the legendary Grant Kirkhope.
Banjo-Kazooie joins the lineup on the heels of Paper Mario, which released for the service last month. Additional games confirmed to be coming to the platform include F-Zero X, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and Pokémon Snap, though no information is currently known on when these will be added. Currently, it seems like we’re getting one N64 game a month, so it’s not unreasonable to assume this pace will continue going forward.
