Banjo and Kazooie come to Smash Bros. Ultimate today

I sure do love a surprise day-of launch, and one for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC even more so! Nintendo revealed during today’s Direct that Banjo and Kazooie are raring to go for the celebrated crossover fighter – in fact, they’re ready to go today!

The fan-favorite bear and breegull duo will launch following a broadcast from Masahiro Sakurai himself after the Direct. The hands-on highlight with the Smash creator will be in the same format as the previous showcase featuring Hero.

Banjo Kazooie Smash Ultimate

That wasn’t all on brand new Smash news during the Direct! Following Fatal Fury‘s Terry Bogard in November and the final Fighter’s Pass fighter, more DLC characters are on the way for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as well. No details on that juicy little reveal were shared, however, but it’s nonetheless exciting to know that the fun isn’t over just yet!

Strange as it is to have what’s effectively a Microsoft IP in a Nintendo game, it’s still heartwarming to see the Rare pair return to Nintendo, if only for this one more time. In any case, keep an eye on us here at Nintendo Enthusiast for more details on Banjo-Kazooie in Smash Bros. Ultimate (and Version 5.0!) later today.
