Announced at EA Play Live 2020, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is bringing its epic battle royale action to Nintendo Switch this fall. (It’s also coming to Steam.) Apex Legends Season 5: Fortune’s Favor has seen the introduction of Loba, major map changes, an all-new ranked series, and numerous quality-of-life updates. Lost Treasures is the latest collection event for the game. Additionally, Crypto’s Map Room is a new Town Takeover.

EA and Respawn Entertainment originally launched this battle royale out of nowhere with zero fanfare back in February 2019, and it still managed to be an instant hit. The game has quickly evolved from one season to the next, but it has been meticulous about releasing new characters, not clogging the environment with too many options that people don’t care to use.

Other major properties developed by Respawn Entertainment include Titanfall (which is set in the same universe as Apex Legends) and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Nintendo Switch is not likely to see either of these franchises anytime soon, but it remains to be seen what else EA might announce during EA Play Live 2020. There is plenty of this event left to go. Stay tuned for more news.
