Much of the world is on lockdown, but that hasn’t stopped Japanese consumers from buying lots of video games and consoles. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is by far the most popular title in Japan (and just about everywhere else) right now. Per the latest data from Famitsu, the lovable game sold another 400,000+ units this past week, and that’s only including physical copies. While we don’t have a clear picture of the physical sales, this means Animal Crossing has moved over 3 million physical copies just in Japan alone.

With 3 million physical sales in Japan and a record-breaking debut in other territories, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is sure to be a mega-hit. Nintendo hasn’t yet released total sales numbers, but they should be incoming soon. In the meantime, you can check out this week’s Famitsu sales data from Japan below.
