Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets its first playable demo at PAX East

Animal Crossing: New Horizons rumor leak: two Nintendo Direct February, Animal Crossing Direct Zippo

While other game companies pull out left and right amidst concerns over the spread of the coronavirus, Nintendo broke its silence on its plans for PAX East this morning by revealing a playable Animal Crossing: New Horizons demo.

While the Animal Crossing: New Horizons hype train is now hurtling full speed ahead (as if it wasn’t already), Nintendo’s quietness concerning their presence at PAX East up to this point has fueled all sorts of speculation. Some thought that they were weighing the pros and cons of joining Sony and Square Enix in pulling out of the show. Others believed that Nintendo was acting coy because their PAX booths would feature games that would not be revealed until a last-minute pre-PAX general Nintendo Direct. We still do not know why Nintendo waited until the week of the show to unveil an Animal Crossing: New Horizons demo–they might have been dragging their feet while making a coronavirus decision, they might still have a Direct planned, and they might have just wanted to sit on the demo announcement for a bit–but this at least confirms that Nintendo will be at the show.

The first hands-on impressions for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be upon us this weekend. The game is finally getting really close, and after its Direct last week, everyone (even Brie Larson) is excited to check the game out as soon as possible. If you’re planning on making an appearance at PAX East, be sure to check that demo out and let us know what you think!
