During the Nintendo Direct in February, Nintendo presented Zelda fans with a few exciting things. We’ll have to wait a little bit longer for news on Breath of the Wild‘s sequel, but there’s plenty of Zelda goodness in the meantime. Skyward Sword HD was announced, and more content is making its way into Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. To be honest, the hype for Skyward Sword HD made me forget about the Age of Calamity Expansion Pass. That is until I was reminded when Nintendo UK updated the official website with new info. The main content won’t be arriving until later this year, but next week, on May 28, Age of Calamity Expansion Pass owners will be able to get their hands on the purchase bonus.

This includes a new outfit and weapon for Link. You can deck the hero out with a prototype ancient helm, prototype ancient cuirass, prototype ancient greaves, and a prototype ancient short sword. That’s a lot of prototypes, and all this fancy gear has Link looking like someone from Star Trek! If you pre-ordered the Age of Calamity Expansion Pass, Nintendo will start taking payments this week, and the purchase bonus will be distributed next Friday.
Wave 1 of the Age of Calamity Expansion Pass arrives next month, introducing an expanded roster, weapon types, challenges, and enemies. The second wave arrives in November, offering new character vignettes, stages, characters, and battle skills. You can currently purchase the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass on the Nintendo eShop for £17.99 / $19.99.
