Adome, a first-person parkour adventure, gets a new sci-fi trailer

Adome Timsea Studios parkour action adventure first-person sci-fi science fiction city of light seeds trailer

The first-person action adventure parkour game Adome has received a new trailer. The game is being developed by Spanish developer Timsea Studios. This trailer comes alongside confirmation that the game is on track to launch this fall.

Adome is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and of course Nintendo Switch. It combines mystery with intense parkour gameplay in a world that’s very different from the one we know right now.

The world of Adome

With climate change irreversibly destroying the world, humanity builds City of Light. This massive city has a dome protecting it from the outside elements, ensuring the survival of the humans inside. At City of Light, humanoid robot Instructors are to educate and care for Seeds, seven-year-old children who will be the city’s first inhabitants.

The story of Adome picks up with one of these Instructors, IB1 of Ark B1, who awakens with the expectation to receive the Seeds, but it seems that not all systems are functioning correctly. Players will take on the role of IB1 as it scours City of Light for these Seeds.

Running, jumping, and climbing are all essential to traversing the city, and Mirror’s Edge is a major influence. However, there is shooting too, and the game takes visual inspiration from Tomorrowland, which featured incredible architecture that was in turn based on the architecture of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) and Valencia.

The game’s story is said to explore the importance of being connected with one another. It will also look at our relationship with nature and why it’s important to appreciate what we have.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
