A Plague Tale: Innocence – Cloud Version hits Switch in July

A Plague Tale: Innocence - Cloud Version Nintendo Switch release date July 2021 Asobo Studio Focus Home Interactive

A few days ago, this would have been surprising news, but now it just makes perfect sense: Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Asobo Studio are bringing A Plague Tale: Innocence – Cloud Version to Nintendo Switch with a release date of July 6, 2021, as revealed in a new trailer. On that same date, an enhanced optimization of the game with 4K 60 FPS and 3D audio support will be released for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studio evidently want to make really sure that everyone plays this game, in order to drum up additional interest in the newly announced sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem.

And that is of course why A Plague Tale: Innocence – Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch isn’t so surprising, as A Plague Tale: Requiem was announced for Switch with a cloud version as well. In the case of Requiem, that game will be skipping PlayStation 4 and Xbox One completely due to their not being natively powerful enough to run the game, which makes it quite the get for Switch. Meanwhile, Innocence came to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019 to a positive critical reception. The game is about siblings Amicia and Hugo trying to survive amid the Black Death while also being hunted by Inquisition soldiers. (It’s clearly a lighthearted romp!)

Tell us if you’re stoked to play A Plague Tale: Innocence – Cloud Version on Switch or if the prospect of a potentially shaky streaming connection hinders your enthusiasm.
