Despite the fact that the 3DS is now over seven years old, Nintendo has yet to put the system to bed. Not only are games still in development for it, but a new system update has also just been released. This update boosts the firmware version up to 11.7.0-4U.
Don’t get too excited, though. Admittedly, the patch notes for this update are exactly what you’d expect:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
It’s pretty much become common knowledge at this point that these “stability updates” tend to actually be security patches. Clearly, Nintendo is still making sure to keep the handheld as secure as possible.
