A Memoir Blue release date delayed to March, ’cause art takes time

Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Cloisters Interactive have delayed the release date of interactive poem A Memoir Blue to March 24, 2022 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and (presumably) iOS. It was originally supposed to release on February 10, so this is a pretty minor delay in the grand pantheon of delays we’ve seen recently. (Dying Light 2 Stay Human is delayed upward of six months on Switch, and Life is Strange: Remastered Collection is delayed to later this year on Switch.)

We provided a hands-off preview of A Memoir Blue back in December, praising the game’s powerful visual metaphors and entrancing use of magic realism. It is a text-less narrative adventure about star swimmer Miriam, who is reflecting on a memorable day from her childhood and realizing it was a much more serious day with her mother than she had ever thought — they were trying to get away from Miriam’s father. The game is based on a true story in the life of Cloisters Interactive creative director Shelley Chen, and I’m personally way more interested in this artistic adventure than I am most non-gameplay-centric game experiences.

Now that its release date has been delayed, you have one more month to get hyped for an emotional journey with A Memoir Blue on Switch and other platforms.
